New Delhi: The Opposition Vice Presidential candidate Gopal Krishna Gandhi on Tuesday met the BJD MPs in New Delhi.
Gandhi met the BJD MPs at the official residence of Cuttack MP and BJD’s leader in the Lok Sabha Bhartruhari Mahatab and seek their vote for the upcoming vice presidential poll.
All the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs from the BJD were present during the meeting. Gandhi extended his gratitude to the BJD parliamentarians for their support for the forthcoming Vice Presidential poll.
BJD President and Odisha Chief MInister Naveen Patnaik had earlier announced his party would support UPA’s candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi in the Vice Presidential poll.
Gandhi is a close friend of Naveen Patnaik. They have known each other much before he entered politics, Naveen has said in the past.
The polling for the post of Vice President of India will be held on August 5 and counting will take place the same day.
