Cuttack: Expediting the probe process in 2018 Beltikri shelter home sexual harassment case, the Odisha Police today filed charge-sheet against the prime accused in the incident Fayaz Rehman today.
Fayaz Rehman who ran the shelter home had been arrested in the same year along with its In-Charge Simanchal Nayak.
Similarly, the HC will take up the bail plea filed by Rehman on December 19 last year for hearing tomorrow, say reports.
Notably, the allegation against the shelter home operated by ‘Good News India’ surfaced on December 1, 2018 after a group of inmates reported their plight to media. Later, Odisha Women & Child Development Minister Prafulla Samal today ordered for the closure of all shelter homes run by the group in the state.
At least 54 minor girls and 40 minor boys were residing in the shelter home at the time of the incident.
