Bhubaneswar: In a tragic indent, driver of a goods-laden trawler truck died on the spot while the helper sustained critical injuries after the vehicle met with an accident at Khandagiri Square in Bhubaneswar this morning.
According to sources, the truck, which was carrying goods, was coming toward Bhubaneswar from Khurda. However, driver of the vehicle applied break all of a sudden due to some unknown reason near the Khandagiri Over Bridge due to which the container climbed over the engine of the vehicle.
The mishap was so severe that the driver died on the spot.
Khandagiri Police and Firefighters along with some locals rescued the helper of the vehicle and rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
