Nayagarh: Launching a crackdown on corrupt officials, Vigilance Department officials have arrested a Revenue Inspector (RI) from Adakata area in Nayagarh district today.
The accused official has been identified as Namita Pradhan.
As per the report, one Gokula Sahu of Dhuamada village had approached Pradhan for an inquiry on his land a few days back for which the latter had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000.
Finding himself unable to pay the bribe money Sahu reported the matter to the Nayagarh anti-corruption wing officials, who laid a trap today and caught Pradhan red-handed while taking bribe at her office.
