Anandapur: In a major development, a joint team of Ghasipura and Ramchandrapur police has seized one JCB machine and five tractors by raiding on an illegal laterite stones cutting unit in Odisha’s Anandapur area of Keonjhar district yesterday.
As per reports, several complaints alleging illegal smuggling of laterite stones in Anandapur area were lodged. Acting on the complaints, Ghasipura and Ramchandrapur police jointly conducted a raid on an illegally run stone cutting unit during the wee hours of the night and seized a JCB machine along with five tractors.
Cops are also trying to trace the stone smugglers and the people who fled from the spot during the raid.
Meanwhile, locals have hailed the police action against the illegal laterite stone trading.
