Rahul Gandhi to address public meeting in Bhubaneswar on January 25

Bhubaneswar: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting at the Tamando Ground in the city on his January 25 visit to the state, informed OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik today.

Patnaik’s information bears significance as earlier it was being speculated that the Congress Chief might hold the meeting in Millenium City Cuttack due to non-availability of a venue in the capital city. Odisha unit of the grand old party also alleged that the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has intentionally kept all major venues booked in advance till March this year.

Notably, the Gandhi scion is scheduled to meet farmers, civil society members, officials of HAL as well as intellectuals from 10 am to 5 pm on the day of his visit.

Around 2 lakh people are expected to attend the meeting, said Patanik.
