Balangir: Tension ran high in Salepada village under Kantabanji police limits in Balangir district today after body of a priest was found dumped inside a well in the area and his family alleged that he had been murdered.
The deceased has been identified as Bhujabal Parabhoi, a priest of Salepada Kali temple and a resident of Mandala village under Kameimunda panchayat.
The murder came to light after some villagers found the body of the victim inside the well and informed his family members.
After local police reached the spot getting intimation on the incident the dead priest’s family didn’t allow it to take the body for autopsy. They demanded immediate arrest of the head priest of the Kali temple Chouban Kishore Majhi alleging his hand in the killing.
Later, police managed to send the deceased for autopsy by pacifying the irate villagers.
