Preparations Afoot For Shivratri At Shree Mandira in Puri

Maha Shivaratri will be observed on March 4, 2019

Bhubaneswar: Maha Shivaratri, which is also called Jagara Jatra or simply Jagara, will be observed on March 4, 2019. A preparatory meeting was held recently in this connection to discuss successful execution of the rituals on this auspicious day.

As per the decisions made in the meeting, the temple gate will open at 12 in the midnight and public darshan will be allowed from 2 am in the night. The ritual ‘Harihara Bheta’ (Meeting of Lord Hari and Lord Hara)  will be executed between 2 am and 3 am followed by the ritual of putting the Mahadeepa atop the temple.

Besides the rituals, matters like arrangement for drinking water, sanitary and law and order, were also discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was organized keeping in view the upcoming Maha Shivarathri as well as the Pankodhhara Ekadashi. District collector Jyoti Prakash Das, SP Umashankar Dash and the sub-collector of Puri were present in the meeting among others.
