Keonjhar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested the Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRS) of Budhikapudi Gram Panchayat in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on bribery charges. The arrested GRS has been identified as Nirakara Mohanta.
The anti-corruption team arrested Mohanta at around 9 PM while he was demanding and accepting bribe money of Rs 2000 from a Complainant (team leader) in order to register the names of the Job card holders of his village and issue receipt through online so that the card holders can get work.
The entire bribe Money has been recovered from Mohanta’s possession and seized.
In this connection, Balasore Vig PS case No.18/ 30.6.2022 U/s 7PC Amendment Act.2018 has been registered against the GRS.
Further probe by the agency is underway.
