Odisha Open 2022 to begin from today, 5 players of state to take part

Cuttack: The Odisha Open 2022, a Badminton World Federation (BWF) event will begin from today at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. The event will take place till January 30.

Reportedly, the 2022 Odisha Open is a Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 100 tournament. It is the third tournament of the 2022 BWF World Tour and is the first edition of the Odisha Open. This tournament is organized by the Badminton Association of India with sanctions from the Badminton World Federation.

As many as 300 players from 18 countries will take part in the tournament including five players from Odisha who will be managed by 200 officials.

The RT-PCR tests of all the participants are being conducted in view of the pandemic situation across the country. The tournament will be held without spectators and strict adherence to Covid guidelines of the State government and Badminton World Federation (BWF).

Notably, Saina Nehwal and her husband Parupalli Kashyap will be the top seeds in the women’s and men’s singles, respectively, at the inaugural Odisha Open 2022 badminton tournament today.
