Rourkela: Tension prevailed at Jamia Colony in Panposh after the body of a five-year-old boy was recovered from an unused septic tank in Koelnagar area under Raghunathpalli police limits today.
The deceased has been identified as Anish Sahu. His family members said that he has gone missing since morning while playing outside the house.
The minor boy was spotted by a local youth who immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital where he was declared received dead.
The septic tank of the under construction building was not covered. “We suspect that he might have drowned after falling into the water-filled tank. Police should initiate action against the building owner for negligence,” demanded a family member.
Police have started an investigation into the incident.
