Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor and Chancellor of Universities Dr. S C Jamir on Monday urged the Vice-Chancellors (VCs) to maintain peace in their respective Universities.
During the meeting of Vice-Chancellors, Dr Jamir also requested to avoid political interference in the universities.
The meeting held discussion on various issues including appointment of professors to fulfill vacant seats and means to improve the quality of education.
Finance Minister Shashi Bhusan Behera, Higher Education Minister Ananta Das, Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy were among others who attended the meeting.
Notably, the Chancellor of Universities holds meeting of the Vice-Chancellors (VCs) every year before the beginning of the new academic session.
