Odisha: Dr. Achyuta Samanta donates wheelchair to differently-abled girl Subhadra

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and MP, Kandhamal met differently-abled girl Subhadra Gumajira, a resident of Teranti village under Sukuli block in Mayurbhanj district during his one day visit to Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj. Subhadra’s father died some years ago, while her mother strives to make both ends meet working as a daily wage laborer. Though Subhadra has an intense penchant to pursue her study career, she is being compelled to rely on others to attend school.

Getting Subhadra’s plight from media Dr. Samanta extended his helping hand to Subhadra. He arranged the financial assistance to Subhadra on behalf of KISS Foundation and making arrangements to provide two thousand rupees as a monthly allowance. Besides, he assured to provide Subhadra free education as long as she would like to pursue her study.

Dr Samanta met Subhadra at her home today and donated her Wheelchair, which was taken by him from Bhubaneswar. Subhadra’s brother will also pursue his study in KISS, assured Dr Samanta. Dr. Samanta requested the Local Sub-Collector to provide them a house as per Government norms and expects the same will come into effect shortly. Besides, he also offered dry food, fruits and groceries to Subhadra’s mother.

On this occasion, Sub Collector Dr Rajanikanta Biswal; BDO Bhabani Pradhan; Tahsaildar Ms. Jyotsnarani Nayak; President, Mayurbhanj Differently abled Association Arun Kumar Behera; Headmaster, Suryakanta Arukh were present. Subhadra and her mother extended heartfelt gratitude to Dr Samanta for his priceless and timely help. People of the village also thanked KISS Foundation and Dr. Samanta for his humanitarian gesture.
