Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday paid his rich tribute to noted freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai on his 153rd birth anniversary on Sunday.
Taking to twitter, Patnaik remembered the vital role Lala Lajpat Rai had played for the independence of India.
The Odisha Chief Minister said that Lala Lajpat Rai had a strong association with Odisha and Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das.

Lajpat Rai was born on 28 January 1865 in Dhudike of Punjab. He played a pivotal role in the Indian Independence movement. He was one third of the Lal Bal Pal triumvirate. He was also associated with activities of Punjab National Bank and Lakshmi Insurance Company in their early stages.
