Odisha CM announces Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to provide universal health coverage to the people of the state, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana here on Tuesday saying the health insurance scheme will come into effect from Aug 15 this year.

“Under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, secondary and tertiary cashless health care assistance will be provided up to Rs 5 lakh per family per annum,” said the Chief Minister.

About 3.5 crore people of the State covering more than 70 lakh families will be benefitted, he claimed.

The Chief Minister also announced that drop back assistance of Rs 500 will be provided to all pregnant women and infant who visit public health facilities.

He further said that each and everyone visiting any Government health institution from District to sub-centre level will be provided all health services free of cost.
