Odisha: Chief Secy Suresh Mahapatra, Secy to CM (5T) VK Pandian visit Rourkela to review developmental works

Rourkela: As directed by Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra, secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, National Health Mission Odisha director Shalini Pandit and Sports secretary R Vineel Krishna visited Rourkela on Wednesday to review different developmental works.

The top officials reviewed the work progress at the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium, Biju Patnaik Indoor stadium, Science Park and planetarium.

Following the review, chief secretary said that the international hockey stadium will be completed by 2022 July. Also, the construction work of the Biju Patnaik indoor stadium is in final stage. Keeping in view the upcoming Hockey World Cup, the aim is to complete the works in due time.

The extension work of Rourkela Airport by the Airport Authority of India is going on. A terminal building will also come up here. It will be complete by May 2022, Mahapatra also said.

The Science Park and planetarium which are being constructed at Chhenda will be completed by 2022 June.

During this visit they also reviewed Covid situation. The JP hospital is being used as the government Covid hospital. Keeping in view the probable third wave of Covid administration is ready in all aspects, he said.
