Odisha cancels Puja leaves of officers to tackle flood

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha government has decided to cancel Puja leaves of all the officers in the Secretariat and Heads of Departments in view of the post-cyclone ‘Titli’/post-flood works to be undertaken by the government.

Principal Secretary Ashok Kumar Meena in his letters to the PS to Chief Minister, Odisha/PS to all Ministers/ Senior PS to Chief Secretary/PPS to DC/ PS to Principal Secretary to Government, GA & PG Department informed about it.

“All Secretaries and Heads of Department shall ensure proper roster arrangement to be made so that the offices are open during the Puja vacation till October 24,” said Meena in the letter.

“This instruction is issued in suppression of all the orders issued in connection with leaves of officers sanctioned earlier for the puja vacation,” he added.

Odisha government is not leaving any stones unturned to restore normalcy in all the flood acted areas of the state.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had constituted a three member ministerial committee to monitor relief, rescue and restoration activities in Titli-affected districts – Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada – of the state.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty, Water Resources Minister Niranjan Pujari and Energy Minister Sushanta Singh are the members of the committee.
