Odia workers rescued from Uttarakhand Tunnel narrate ordeal to CM Naveen, get Rs 2 Lakh each compensation

Four of the five workers from Odisha who were rescued from the collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after reaching Bhubaneswar today and narrated their ordeal to him.

Bhubaneswar: Four of the five workers from Odisha who were rescued from the collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after reaching Bhubaneswar today and narrated their ordeal to him.

Accompanied by their family members, Labour Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak and Labour Commissioner, the workers namely Raju Nayak, Dhiren Nayak and Bisheshwar Nayak from Mayurbhanj and Bhagwan Bhatra from Nabarangpur met Patnaik at his residence Naveen Niwas.

While speaking to them, the Chief Minster congratulated them and inquired about their health condition. He said that they (workers) are indeed heroes and the way they have fought for their lives and won in adverse conditions is truly inspiring.

The Chief Minister also handed over Rs 2 lakh to each worker as compensation.The workers also thanked the Chief Minister for his sympathy, informing him that they were all fine.

Earlier yesterday, 5T & Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian had a video chat with them and inquired about their health condition.
