Bhubaneswar: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sub zone team of Bhubaneswar on Friday seized huge amount of ganja on Pitapalli to Barang Road in capital city and arrested three drug peddlers in this connection.
The arrested persons have been identified as (1) Balwaan @ Kabir @ Balwaan Singh (31), Driver of the truck along with receiver of seized contraband, (2) Jaspal Singh (35), Receiver of seized contraband, and (3) Jashnoor Singh (21), Associate of the other two accused.
Acting on intelligence input, a raid was conducted by the team of NCB Sub-Zone, Bhubaneswar on May 5 against illegal possession of Narcotic drugs near SOG Training Centre in Chandaka while a truck, bearing Regd. No. PB-11CR-2958, was en-route to to Haryana from Andhra Pradesh.
During the search the STF team seized 506 kg of Ganja were seized.
The arrested accused persons and the seized properties will be produced before the Lower Division Court, Bhubaneswar on May 6.
