MLA Jogesh Singh suspended from Congress

Bhubaneswar:  Sundergarh MLA Jogesh Singh was suspended from the Odisha unit of Congress party for his anti-party activities on Thursday. This was informed by OPCC disciplinary committee convenor Ananta Sethi.

According to Sethi, the disciplinary committee suspended Singh following AICC’s approval.

After the resignation of MLA Naba Das yesterday, speculations were rife about Singh resigning from the Congress and joining another party. The legislator also had announced that he would skip Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s meeting to be held later this month.

Speaking exclusively to Kalinga TV, Singh had said, “I will not be part of Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s meeting as I am slated to attend some marriage functions in my constituency. The people of my area are my high command. For me, people are more important than the party.”
