Missing former Aska MLA Saroj Padhi rescued

Bhubaneswar: Former Aska MLA Saroj Padhi who was missing for the last few days has been rescued by the Capital Police, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh on Tuesday.

The DCP said that Saroj Padhi has been rescued by the Capital Police from a train in Berhampur.

It is to be noted here that the former Aska MLA was missing since May 12 after leaving his Bhubaneswar-based house at around 8 AM. His son Sangeet Padhi had filed a missing complaint at the Capital Hospital on the following day.

After the Commissionerate Police started an investigation into the matter, Saroj Padhi made a phone call to the family members but did not reveal more details about his whereabouts. The cops then tracked his phone and rescued him from a train in Berhampur while he was returning to Bhubaneswar.

Sources said that Saroj Padhi was rescued while he was returning from Rameswaram, where he had gone for some puja.
