Miscreants loot Rs 60,000 from trader after stabbing in Deogarh

Two miscreants reportedly looted Rs 60,000 from a trader after stabbing him in Deogarh in Odisha’s Deogarh district on Tuesday.

Deogarh: Two miscreants reportedly looted Rs 60,000 from a trader after stabbing him in Deogarh in Odisha’s Deogarh district on Tuesday. The businessman has been identified as Kuna Nayak of Khaparsahi in Deogarh town.

As per sources, two bike-borne miscreants intercepted Nayak while he was returning home after doing his business and beat him and attempted to loot him. However, they stabbed him with a knife when he resisted their loot bid. Soon, they snatched the money bag containing Rs 60,000 from him and fled the spot.

Some locals rescued the trader and rushed him to the Deogarh district headquarters hospital. His condition was stated to be stable.

Police started an investigation into the matter after registering a case. They also launched a manhunt to trace the looters and arrest them.
