Bhubaneswar: A mentally unstable mother allegedly threw her 7-month-old baby in hearth at Salia Sahi of the city here on Thursday.
The infant, who sustained burn injuries was initially admitted to the Capital Hospital in critical condition and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital as its condition deteriorated.
While the exact cause of the crime is yet to be known, Nayapalli Police has detained the woman and her husband for interrogation.
