Maoists encounter in Malkangiri: DGP RP Sharma to review situation today
Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP RP Sharma on Tuesday left for Malkangiri to review the situation following yesterday’s fire exchange between SOG Jawans and Maoists that killed five ultras.
ADG (Operation) RP Koche and several senior officers will also attend the review meeting, sources said.
Malkangiri SP Jagmohan Meena said, police team recovered bodies of the rebels, including a woman cadre. The killed rebels were part of Kalimela LOS, a banned organisation.
Three slain Maoists have been identified as Unga Sodhi alias Kirti, ACM cadre of Kalimela Dalam with SLR, Mase Madhi alias Sunni, party member, Kalimela Dalam and Seema Kendruka alias Rupi alias Sushila, party member of Kalimela Dalam
Police team also recovered 2 INSAS rifles, 1 SLR, 1 (.303) rifle three grenades and huge amount of live bullets after the encounter.
The State government had declared four lakh rupees reward on the two killed naxals and one lakh each on the other three.
