Maoist Gunned Down In Exchange Of Fire With Security Personnel In Odisha

Balangir: A maoist was gunned down following an exchange of fire with the security personnel in forest area near Junanibahal village under Khaprakhol police limits in Balangir district.

The identity of the maoist has not been ascertained yet.

According to intelligence inputs, team of the Balangir Police along with the District Voluntary Force (DVF) conducted a raid in a forest in Junanibahal area. During the patrolling, there was exchange of fire between the police and the maoists. Following which a naxal was killed.

The police recovered a SLR weapon from the maoist camp.

Police sources said the deceased Maoist is suspected to be member of the KKBN division of CPI.
