Jajpur: Police today broke open the locker of lady village level worker (VLW) & in-charge panchayat executive officer (PEO) of Haridaspur, Smitarani Biswal.
Police today opened the locker of Biswal at the Dharmasala Block office in presence of magistrate and local tehsildar. Police have also verified the official documents kept by Biswal in the locker.
The body of Biswal was found hanging in a guest house on October 16. Subsequently police had arrested Rupesh Bhadra, the husband of Haridaspur sarpanch on October 19 for abetting the suicide of Biswal.
The incident has now snowballed into a major political row with opposition BJP demanding CBI inquiry. BJP legislators have also stalled the proceeding of the winter session of the Odisha assembly over the demand of CBI probe.
