KCR-Naveen Meet: Telengana CM emphasises upon cooperation among regional parties


Bhubaneswar: Telengana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao met his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence here this evening and held discussion on several key issues, including the need of cooperation between the regional parties in view of the upcoming General Election in the country.

In a joint briefing to media persons after the meeting, both the leaders were of the opinion that, issues of national interest were taken up during the talks, which took place under cordial atmosphere.

“During the meeting we had a general discussion on topics like, reservation for women in the Parliament and Assemblies in the country, Polavaram project as well as farmers’ issues. We have started the discussion in national interest and will take it forward,” said Naveen.

On the other hand, KCR went a step forward and opined that there is a growing need of cooperation between the likeminded political parties in the country as people want a change at the Centre, now. The Telengana CM also appreciated Odisha Government’s KALIA scheme for farmers.

“People certainly want a change at the Centre now. We have started dialogue and it would continue. However, nothing concrete has come out till now,” said KCR.

The Telengana Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Puri and Konark tomorrow before leaving for Kolkata to meet West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.
