Iron scrap dealer arrested for Rs 10 cr GST fraud in capital city of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A joint team of police and state GST officials arrested a man on Monday over a scam of Rs 10 crore in capital city of Odisha.

The accused has been identified as Smruti Ranjan Sahu of Bapuji Nagar area in Bhubaneswar.

Reportedly, he was running as many as seven firms with fake documents. He had allegedly opened the firms in the name of rickshaw pullers, students, etc.

He has showed an annual turnover of Rs 40 crore, said the GST officials.

After verifying all his documents, the GST officials raided his house at Bapuji Nagar with the help of police and held him.
