Bhubaneswar: The Indian hockey team would face World Number 1 Argentina in their semi-final match in World Hockey League Final on Friday.
The cross-over semi-final was confirmed after Argentina defeated England 3-2 in their quarter-final match on Thursday.
“India can give a lot of surprises. They are really good in attack but they struggle a bit in defence. So, we are going to try to use that in our favour. We have to control the speed of their strikers,” said Argentina’s Lucas Vila, who played his 200th international against England today.
India, on the other hand, had qualified for the semi-finals after beating Belgium in the shoot-out.
In another quarter-final match, Germany surpasses Dutch threat in the penalty-shootout to play semis against Australia.
