Heavy rain to lash Odisha from August 12: MeT Department

Bhubaneswar: For Odisha which is already struggling with a flood-like situation in different parts due to heavy rain, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today predicted more shower for it starting from August 12.

While as per a piece of information given by the MeT officials, the low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has moved towards central India ending rain spells in the state in next three days it also pointed at the formation of another cyclonic circulation during the same period.

“A cyclonic circulation is very likely to form over the south-east Bay of Bengal in next three days to concentrate into a low pressure causing rain from August 12 in Odisha,” informed Gouranga Charan Behera, Duty Officer, Bhubaneswar IMD Centre.

The low pressure will bring heavy rain to north Odisha districts and western Odisha districts like Deogarh, Sundergarh and Sambalpur, Behera added.
