Former Malkangiri MLA, hundreds of BJP and Cong workers join BJD

Bhubaneswar: Bringing more leaders to the conch party fold, over 100 workers of Opposition parties Congress and BJP today joined Biju Janata Dal (BJP) at Naveen Niwas here today ahead of 2019 poll.

As per the report, former Malkangiri MLA Jeetendra Sodi along with a large number of supporters was formally inducted to the ruling party fold by CM Naveen Patnaik in the morning at a special event. While several Congress workers from the district also joined BJD, they were led by the incumbent Malkangiri MLA Manas Madkami.

Similarly, a good number of workers from Kantabanji of Balangir district also joined BJD during the same event and were led by the local MLA Ayub Khan.

Expressing his happiness over getting new entrants in BJD, party supremo Naveen Patnaik insisted that the move will further strengthen the ruling party in the coming days.
