Nuapada: In yet another case of exploitation in the name of black magic, police arrested a self-styled Godman for allegedly molesting a minor girl during a sorcery treatment in Khariar area of Nuapada district today.
The held accused has been identified as Basant Kumar Bag of Bhutuapli village under Balangir Sadar police limits.
As per the charges slapped against Basant, he took the victim to a room at his house on the pretext of removing the evil spirit she had been possessed by on June 11 and later assaulted physically.
While the family of the victim girl rescued him from the spot unconscious later, she narrated the ordeal after gaining consciousness.
The accused has been forwarded to court after being slapped with charges under the relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
