Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Thursday announced to start Covid-19 vaccination of pregnant woman in the State soon after a new set of guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry, stated Health Director Bijay Mohapatra.
The virus is spreading in the category B districts as it is getting the right kind of environment for transmission. To strike a balance between life and profession, the government has allowed relaxations in some parts of the State, informed Mohapatra.
The infection rate will decline if people will strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines, said Mohapatra.
Emphasis is being given to intensive surveillance and contract tracing.Hopefully the cases will decline in the mid of July, informed Mohapatra.
Currently, 500 COVID patients are under ventilator support and 2000 undergoing treatment in ICUs. The number of casualties is likely to decrease gradually, Mohapatra stated.
