Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested five members of a lootera gang in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, informed DCP Prateek Singh.
Reportedly, the five arrested looters include two notorious robbers identified as Ayushman Tripathi of Puri and Nirmal Ranasingh of the Uni-6, Bhubaneswar area, and three others, Lokanath, Tapan, Jyoti, for giving money after keeping the looted objects that they robbed from different police station areas across the capital city.
The cops have recovered eight mobile phones and 12 gold chains from their possession.
Earlier on May 14, a complaint had been filed against Ayushman and Nirmal with Tomando police following which a manhunt was initiated to apprehend them.
From the preliminary investigation, it has been ascertained that these five arrested looters belong to one Chakara gang.
