Balangir: Tightening the noose around the necks of graft-tainted officials in the district Vigilance sleuths today raided the residence of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer (ACTO) Dhirendra Mishra here on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known source of income.
A joint team of Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda wings of Odisha Vigilance took part in the raid which started in the morning and conducted searches at Mishra’s house located in the Mahalaxmi Nagar.
During the search, the team found unaccounted cash worth Rs 4.77 lakh and seized those. Later they verified bank accounts, land records and other vital documents.
The raid was underway till this report was being filed and a detailed report is expected by 1.30 PM, said Vigilance sources.
