CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates slew of projects in Koraput 

Koraput: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a slew of developmental projects during his one-day visit to the district on Tuesday.

Patnaik dedicated the much-awaited Telengiri irrigation project to the public through video conference while attending a youth conclave organised by Biju Yuva Vahini in Jeypore town in the district.

Telengiri irrigation project, being built at a cost Rs. 992.85 crore, have an irrigation potential of 9952 hectares in Jeypore and Borigumma blocks in the district. Farmers of 52 villages under these blocks will get benefit from the project.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated 30 other developmental projects in the district on the occasion. The projects include Anganwadi Centres, lift irrigation projects, drinking water projects, several river bridges, hostels in SC/ST schools, grid substation etc.

Besides, the Chief Minister distributed benefits under various Government programmes to construction workers, slum-dwellers and pensioners.

Around 30,000 members of the BJD youth wing took part in the conclave.

Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik said, “The State Government is committed for the development of the KBK region.

The Chief Minister also announced three High Level Bridges in Koraput district – over river Muran on Girilaguma-Duarasuni road, near Kolab reservoir on Nandpur-Lamtaput-Banamaliput road and on in Kolab reservoir on Koraput-Suku road.

Earlier in the day, the Chef Minister inaugurated as many as 12 developmental projects worth around Rs 19 crore and laid the foundation stone for 16 other projects worth Rs 1,097 crore in Nabarangpur district.
