Children, women tie ‘Rakhi’ to Odisha CM on Raksha Bandhan 2019

Bhubaneswar: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan on Thursday, schoolchildren and women tied ”rakhis'” to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence here in Odisha.

The Chief Minister took the twitter route to share some of the pictures of women and children from different segments of society tying rakhis to him today.

” All four and a half crore people of Odisha are my family members. I am glad for being tied ‘rakhis’ from sisters from the various field on this auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan”, CM Naveen Patnaik tweeted.

 

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister wished people on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

“Greetings to all brothers and sisters on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. May the promising relation of brother-sister be stronger and spread the message of peace and friendship by the grace of Lord Jagannath”, he tweeted.

 

Before celebrating Rakshabandhan at his residence, the Chief Minister hoisted the national flag at the State-level Independence Day function held at the IDCO exhibition ground here on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day.

Addressing the State-level Independence Day function, the Chief Minister announced  ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative to ensure transparency in the governance in the State.

The new initiative will come into effect on October 2 this year on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, he said.
