Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today sealed a house in Chandrasekharpurarea for unauthorised construction.
BMC officials said that the matter came to light during a visit by the officials of the civic body. “We have asked the owner and workers to stop construction activity as they were extending the area of building from its actual size. However the owner of the house did not respond to the warning,” said a BMC official.
Later a notice was served to the owner on June 11. “The owner did not respond to the notice as well. So the matter was taken to the ODA court which subsequently found the construction of encroaching government land. We sealed the house today in presence of police personnel from Chandrasekharpur police station,” added the official.
