BJP celebrates PM Modi’s 67th Birthday as Seva Diwas

Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed the 67th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘Seva Diwas’ (day of service) across the country on Sunday.
On this occasion, BJP leaders attended medical camps and blood donation events and took part in cleanliness drives.
As part of the saffron party’s plan to celebrate Modi’s birthday as Seva Diwas across the country, BJP National President Amit Shah attended different programmes in Ranchi while Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was at Kirti Nagar in Delhi, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal in Chennai and Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar in Mumbai.
Union Minister Jual Oram also participated in a cleanliness drive at Mahavir Basti in RK Puram, New Delhi.
Like every year, the Prime Minister began his 67th birthday celebration seeking his mother Heeraben’s blessings at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
A 67-feet tall cake weighing 680 kg was cut by many divyang children in Surat, which was followed by cultural programmes.
Birthday wishes have been pouring in for the PM from various politicians, sports stars and celebrities who have taken to Twitter to wish him a happy birthday. #HappyBirthdayPM is trending on Twitter today.
On his 67th birthday, PM Modi dedicated the Sardar Sarovar Dam to the nation. Later, he will go to Sadhu Bet, an island in the Narmada river where a 182-metre tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, billed as India’s own ‘Statue of Unity’, and a memorial complex dedicated to the country’s first Home minister are coming up there.
Thereafter, the Prime Minister will attend the closing ceremony of ‘Narmada Mahotsav’, and address a gathering at Dabhol. He will also lay the foundation stone for National Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museum during the event.
Modi would then visit Amreli in Saurashtra where he will attend a host of programmes and address a public gathering.
