Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Odisha recorded the highest temperature of the day today. As per the latest bulletin of the city-based regional Meteorological department, Bhubaneswar turned out to be hottest at 43.7 degrees Celsius.
Apart from Bhubaneswar, mercury crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark in seven other places. They are Talcher (43.3), Angul (42.7), Titlagarh (42), Cuttack (41.1), Malkangiri (40.8), Chandbali (40.5) and Jharsuguda (40.0).
Earlier today, the Odisha government declared summer vacation for all schools from April 18 in view of the prevailing heat condition across the state.
