Baishnab Parida dares CM Naveen, seeks his ouster Bhubaneswar: President of Bhasa Surakshya Sammilani, an outfit fighting for promotion of Odia language, and former Rajya Sabha Member Baishnab Parida on Tuesday did the seemingly unthinkable by demanding the resignation of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik saying a person who does not know Odia language has no right to rule Odisha.

The senior BJD leader also threatened to launch a civil disobedience movement in front of all district Collectors’ offices on October 16.

“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has no right to rule the state as he does not know Odia language. Therefore, he should resign at the earliest. A civil disobedience movement will be launched in front of all district Collectors’ offices on October 16 demanding his ouster,” said Parida.

BJD veteran Dr. Damodar Rout hit back at the former MP, saying the CM knows Odia better than Parida. He also questioned why he was raising the issue after the end of his Rajya Sabha term.
