Bhubaneswar: Delhi-based controversial journalist Abhijit Iyer Mitra, who is currently cooling his behind the bars at Jharpada Jail here, was rushed to Capital Hospital today following abdominal pain.
As per the report, Iyer who was ailing since past few days reported severe abdominal pain to the jail authorities today morning. He was taken to hospital amidst tight security arrangements.
Iyer has been admitted Surgery Department at the hospital and his condition is stable, said sources.
Notably, the Delhi-based journalist landed in trouble after posting derogatory tweets on September 16 mocking the erotic sculptures of the 13th century Konark temple and another disparaging post on the 12th century Sri Jagannath temple.
Later, Mitra invited more trouble by giving offending remark against the Odisha legislators for which a breach of privilege allegation was leveled against him.
