Abandoned newborn boy found in Mayurbhanj village

Baripada: An abandoned newborn boy has been rescued from a forested area near Nahasol village under Morada police limit in Mayurbhanj district today.

The incident came to light in the morning after some locals spotted the baby cooing near a bush and reached there out of curiosity. Later, they rescued the baby from the spot to send to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

A local social activist Rakesh Singh is taking care of the baby at the hospital and efforts are on to trace his parents.

The health condition of the baby is stated to be stable after treatment.
