Bhubaneswar: On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a team of STF, BBSR near AIIMs, Bhubaneswar in Khordha district on Sunday.
The raid was conducted against illegal deal or possession of Narcotic Drugs and as many as three drug peddlers were apprehended.
The three people have ben identified as :
1) Bhagirathi Bhatt of Ranasinghpur, near AIIMs Bhubaneswar PS. Tamando, UPD, Bhubaneswar
2) Biswajit Nayak of Chittalpur PS under Balipatna, Khordha district
3) Chandan Mallik of Raghunath Nagar, Dumuduma PS. Khandagiri, UPD Bhubaneswar
During search contraband brown sugar weighing 2 kg 58 gram and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from their possession.
The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which they have been arrested and is being forwarded to the court of District & Sessions cum Spl. Judge, Bhubaneswar.
In this connection STF PS Case has been registered. Investigation is underway.
Special drive against narcotic drugs is being continued.
Since 2020, STF has seized more than 54 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine
and more than 103 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna, Opium 750 gram.
It is noteworthy that more than 150 drug dealers/peddlers have been arrested.
