Angul: A girl along with her maternal uncle lost their lives while another mother-daughter duo sustained critical injuries in a tragic road accident that took place on Baluakata road in Angul district.
The deceased have been identified as Sujan and Gayatri.
Reportedly, four of them were en-route to Angul from Baluakata village on a bike when a speeding auto from the opposite direction collided head-on against their bike.
As a result, Sujan and Gayatri died on the spot while Padmini and her 10-year-old daughter Barsha sustained critical injuries. The locals immediately informed the local police.
On getting the information, the local police arrived at the spot along with an emergency ambulance.
The cops seized the bodies of the deceased and sent them for autopsy. The critically injured patients were also rushed to District Headquarter Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Traffic congestion also occurred for sometime on the road post the tragic incident took place.
