Balasore: In a tragic incident as many as two people sustained critical injury following a sword attack in the Mitrapur area under Nilagiri Police limits of Balasore district in Odisha on Tuesday. It has been learnt that the fight was due to land dispute.
As per reports, verbal spat erupted between Kalia of Mitrapur area and Kaliprasad Nayak and his son Jyotirmaya of Kalyani village. As the verbal spat took an ugly turn Kalia left the place and returned along with his brother and 20 other goons. All of them attacked the father son duo using sharp weapons including sword.
As a result of the attack Kaliprasad sustained grievous injury on his head.
Again, another person, identified as a truck helper Harischandra Mallick also became victim of the attack while he had got down from his truck and was trying to side the truck.
After getting information, Nilagiri Police reached the spot and sent the critically injured persons to the hospital. Police have detained Jyotirmaya, the son of the critically injured persons. Further investigation of the case is underway.
