17 years of all-round failure, Congress taunts BJD govt
Bhubaneswar: While the ruling Biju Janata Dal celebrated three years of its fourth consecutive term in government, Odisha Congress hit out at the CM and asked what his government had done for the people in the last 17 years, as the State lagged behind in all sectors.
PCC President Prasad Harichandan asked why Odisha still remains at the bottom in terms of development, employment and prosperity. He warned CM Naveen Patnaik of massive political consequences for his government’s “failure” on all fronts.
Harichandan stated that Odisha Govt had failed to provide electricity to 33 lakh households and piped water supply to more than that number. He also claimed that the ruling party had failed to return even a single penny to 30 lakh people affected by chit fund scam.
The PCC Chief came down heavily on BJP too, saying it enjoyed power with BJD for 9 years and does not have any moral right to absolve itself of the mess. “They both looted Odisha for 9 years, now BJD doing it alone,” he quipped.
