Balasore: With no respite in sight from sexual harassment of minors in the state, unidentified miscreants gang raped a 13-year-old girl after drugging her in Rasulpur area under Bhograi block in the district last night.
The incident came to light this morning after some locals found the victim in an inebriated condition from a forested area and called up the local sarpanch and police.
The rape victim, who happens to be a resident of Ramnagar area of neighbouring West Bengal state, was rescued with the help of Kumbhiragadi sarpanch Ratan Bag later in the morning and admitted to Jaleswarpur Community Health Centre (CHC).
“The victim arrived at the CHC this morning in seemingly an inebriated condition. We have communicated the matter to police and a medical examination will be performed only after inspection,” said a doctor at the CHC.
