Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is an active face on social media platforms. He regularly posts photos and videos on Instagram and enjoys a following of 257 million followers on the handle.

Now in a recent incident, Virat Kohli made it to the headlines after he addressed a leading national daily publishing fake news about him. This comes only a few days after he rubbished reports claiming his earnings from social media.

Virat Kohli took to his Instagram stories on Tuesday and slammed the popular national daily for publishing fake news about him. The news report stated that Virat and Anushka were to ‘build a cricket pitch’ at their farmhouse in Alibaug.

Along with the screenshot, Virat also wrote, “Bachpan se jo akhbaar padha hai, who bhi fake news chhapne lage ab”

As reported by the daily, Virat and Anushka invested a whopping amount of Rs 19.24 crore for an eight acre land. It further mentioned that Virat was looking forward to building a cricket pitch on the property and is hence closely involved with the construction.

Not long back, several reports about the cricketer had surfaced online. The reports stated about his income from his social media posts. They had mentioned that Kohli charges a sky rocketing price of Rs 11.45 crore per Instagram post.

Virat had then taken to his official account on X (formerly Twitter) to share that the reports were false. He also wrote that he is grateful for whatever life has given him.

On the work front, Virat Kohli will be seen in action against Pakistan in the upcoming India’s Asia Cup 2023 opener on September 2.
