Second Half of IPL 2024 to be headed Dubai due to general elections!

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly planning to organize the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 in Dubai.

According to reports given by the Times of India, a few BCCI officials are in the UAE to explore the possibility of moving the second half of the tournament to the Gulf nation. The decision will be made after the announcement of dates for the upcoming General Elections.

It is worth mentioning here that the Election Commission is all set to announce the Lok Sabha 2024 elections dates at 3 pm today.

Speaking about the moving the tournament to Dubai, one of the BCCI officials said TOI, “The Election Commission of India will announce the election schedule on Saturday at 3 pm. After that, the BCCI will decide whether should be moved to Dubai. Currently, a few top BCCI officials are in Dubai to explore the possibility of organizing the second half of the IPL in Dubai.”

Earlier in February, the cricket board announced the schedule of first half of the IPL, which includes 21 matches. IPL 2024 is all set to begin from March 22 with the first match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

It is worth mentioning here that Lucknow super Giants will lock horns with Gujarat Titans on April 7 in the final game of the first half of the tournament.
